Shipyards & dry-dock · checklist

Preparing a dry-dock service enquiry

A concise, well-scoped enquiry can help service teams and suppliers understand your dock-period requirement.

Dry-dock work often involves a defined vessel, yard, work period and several service or spares requirements. Sharing these details early helps the parties assessing the enquiry understand the constraints and identify what else they need.

Include the core project details

  • Shipyard or repair yard name and location
  • Vessel name, type and relevant equipment
  • Expected docking and undocking dates
  • Work scope and expected deliverables
  • Required attendance or delivery dates

Attach technical references

Include equipment make, model, serial or part numbers, drawings, photos, defect lists and relevant RFQ schedules. Identify which items are confirmed and which are still under review.

Clarify service and supply expectations

State whether you are requesting inspection, repair, parts, testing, installation, project coordination or a combined scope. Identify condition preferences for spares and any required approvals or documents for service providers.

Share site and access requirements

Note any known yard access, safety, work-permit, onboarding, equipment or coordination requirements that may affect the response. Confirm these details with the shipyard and assigned contractor before work begins.
