Preparing a marine instrumentation service enquiry

Instrumentation requests are easier to assess when each instrument is tied to its tag, measurement point and service need. Share the information available and mark unknown details clearly.

List the instrument references

Provide the vessel and system, instrument tag, measurement point, instrument type, manufacturer and model where available. A photo of the nameplate and installation can help identify the equipment.

State the requested service

Clarify whether you are asking about inspection, fault assessment, calibration coordination, replacement sourcing or another defined scope. If the instrument's service history or last available record is known, include it with the enquiry.

Share measurement details if known

Include the stated measurement range, units and output or interface details shown in the equipment documentation. Do not infer values from memory; indicate when a detail needs confirmation from the approved drawings or equipment records.

Include certificates and supporting documents

Attach relevant datasheets, loop drawings, calibration records or certificates if available. Identify the instrument tag and document revision so the information can be matched to the right equipment.

Confirm location and timing

Note the vessel or yard location, preferred service window and any access or coordination requirements. For multiple instruments, a simple list with one row per tag helps keep the scope clear.

Discuss an instrumentation requirement

Send the instrument tags, available references, service request, location and timing to NexTide Marine for an initial review.

Request instrumentation support

The applicable service scope and documentation requirements depend on the equipment and request and should be confirmed with the responsible technical team.
